During the month of January I was pitiful in keeping up with my blog. I miss it. So, here I am.... Once again..... Playing catch up. I have lots of really amazing things to write about. The title of this post is about catching up and Jeff and I did just that when we ran in the St. George Half Marathon a few weeks ago. I was for sure playing catch up the whole time! We had such a fun race and there are lots more pictures, but I only have this one for now until I get the others from our friends.
We had been anticipating our run for months before and training our very best... okay, so it wasn't our very best, but we trained and prepared somewhat for the run. We were so anxious to run, until we saw the weather: Snow, rain, clouds. AH! Jeff was worrying about plowing that weekend and I was worrying about running in the rain. It was a worrisome ordeal. I ended up hitching a ride with Jeff's best friend, Taylor, because Jeff wanted to stick around to plow. After a snowy, rainy, at times scary drive down south, we met up with Taylor's wife and family in St. George while Jeff waited out the storm as long as possible. He soon drove to St. George the next day to meet up with us. Of course it started snowing in Salt Lake as soon as he arrived in St. George, but it was all taken care of and we were getting in the right mindset for our race.
The race ended up being so fun! We all did awesome and had a great time! It was especially fun running with my best friend. I never thought I would convince Jeff to run a race with me, but he ended up really liking it! I was completely sore and Jeff wasn't at all. Lucky boy. I think I like this catching up. Jeff and I both agreed that we feel so much better when we are exercising and run at least 3 times a week. Hopefully we can keep it up!
This picture was taken before the race started. Notice how cold it looks! My fingers were frozen for the first couple miles, but then the temperature was absolutely perfect. Great day for a looooooong run!
